Almost 90 days in country and I have accomplished so much, professionally and personally. I measure my success on how full my heart is. For a longtime I felt like I was living in Mr. Cofield’s shadow. Well, that isn’t true at all. Being married to my best friend has allowed me to do so much for myself and us. I became so distracted, I didn’t realize that I didn’t need to reestablish myself to make it. I am making it every day that there is air in my lungs. I was measuring my success off of what others thought success was. All along I was becoming more successful every day. My husband has supported me in every way possible. I wasn’t living in his shadow, instead I was, and I still am living. Individually we are strong, but together we are unstoppable.
Korea is a place of constant movement and transition; every day is busy. Like I said before, every day is an episode of 24. I am in season 2 (since this is my second tour). This week there were many supporting cast members that became main cast members. There were also several guest stars that I hope to encounter in the near future. I was also introduced to the season villain. Busy week, right?
One highlight from last week was going on a drive I did not necessarily want to go on. It turned out to be a cool trip. I was able to tour a local hospital. It is truly amazing to see how other countries treat patients and learn their treatment processes.
Another highlight… I volunteered and completed my first Spartan Race. All of my childhood years of hopping fences and climbing monkey bars were finally put to use. The experience was something I can’t wait to experience again.
Learn to step back and look at the bigger picture. You may already be successful and not even realize it because you are getting caught up on what makes someone else happy. Focus on you and you will always be successful.
Thank you Deon, thank you for your unwavering love and support.
