I found myself saying a slow yes, instead of a fast no this week. It seems that because of that my week turned out great. It went by super quick. When my days are slow, it leaves time for me to sit and think about what I can’t do or who isn’t here to put a smile on my face. So, I am finding other outlets.
I started out the week by going to the new bowling alley here. I forgot how much fun bowling can be. It is an excellent way to relieve stress too. I also got to meet some NFL players. The only one that mattered was Chase though. Bears fan for life.
I treated myself to a spa treatment. I forgot how much joy getting a simple foot rub could be. I will go back just for that.
I had my first practice with the color guard team. The hardest part for me was not bringing the saber up so quickly and slapping myself in the face. Y’all pray for me. We have a good squad.
I got back into my detox smoothies. In my previous post, I went over the recipe and how I make it. Dancing while making it, makes it taste better. Trust me.
I tried a new workout at the gym. I love saving different workouts on Instagram, but I never tried them until now. No, I will not make a fitness video because I am nowhere near coordinated enough. If anything, the video will hurt me when trying to claim disability later because it will show I brought it on myself. I try to work out with as much adult supervision as possible though. I miss my workout buddies.
Closing out the work week we had a unit BBQ. I was captain of my ultimate football team and I managed to still get fired. I did make one catch before making my exit. My team won, because all I do is win. With that BBQ, we had a “Pie In the Face” to raise funds for the Ball that will take place at the end of the month. Well, I was so confident I wasn’t going to get pied that I didn’t go to the ATM to get any real cash. I say real cash because you can pay your way out of getting pied.Unfortunately, I couldn’t match what was being presented in my case, probably never would because there was a clear gap in pay grades by the person that nominated me. I survived though and I was smelling whipped cream for the rest of the day.
I woke up early on Saturday to go to the range. A range on a Saturday? Yes, and it went well. I actually qualified and my Soldier reached his goal of getting expert.
Closing out this week, I was reminded that I am loved beyond measure. I spoke to my kiddos. I speak to them every day, but this conversation was different. My husband is out of town and the kids are with a good friend. The joy and love I see on their faces, lets me know that they are surrounded by love. Looking at them you would’nt even know that their parents are both away, but instead, you will see that they are well taken care of. I am so thankful for my village.
Let see what happens this week 😉
